Project Work

Creating policies, template letters, staff guides etc.

Policies are necessary to ensure both the organisation and staff alike know how they will treat or be treated in relation to a certain staff related situation e.g. sickness absence. They ensure staff are treated consistently, in accordance with that policy. Template letters also ensure consistency and crucially save time and effort in addressing matters, by not requiring each situation to be dealt with from scratch. Of course, all situations and all businesses are different, which is where we can help to ensure policies, guides and templates both cover off legislative requirements and reflect the style and culture of the organisation.

Implementing and reviewing recruitment processes

It is essential to appoint the right people to the right posts in all organisations, meaning you need to ensure your selection processes do the multi-faceted job of attracting, assessing and appointing staff in an effective and timely manner. Added to this, there are several legislative requirements to follow in order to ensure the process is fair and not left open to claims of unfair treatment.

You may carry out the majority of your recruitment or resourcing in house, or you may rely on agencies to support in finding suitable candidates. Either way, you will require your own recruitment policies and procedures, to ensure selection is undertaken consistently and without bias.

Reviewing pay and reviews systems and processes, including job evaluation

Implementing a pay structure improves transparency and trust for staff and crucially allows you to manage and control staff costs. Keeping systems updated with regular review, in line with market expectations increases the feeling of value amongst existing staff and assists in the attraction and retention of staff.

We can assist with implementing and reviewing pay and rewards systems, pay review processes as well as job evaluation and performance evaluation, which can be designed to stand alone or to connect with pay and reward mechanisms.

Implementing and reviewing employment processes

People processes can often seem unwieldy or cumbersome, often due to the need to comply with different areas of legislation or due to processes being amended over time.

Employee related processes, however, are essential for being able to manage staff and keep your business moving. Regularly reviewing and updating them can help to avoid issues before they arise and ensure staff are treated fairly and consistently.

Employee relations - Performance, Conduct, Grievance including investigations

Cases of poor performance or misconduct, employee complaints and grievances are never pleasant to manage. They can cause disruption to operations and erode working relationships. Addressing matters quickly, fairly and effectively will limit the potential damage and arriving at an outcome, using a fair process will limit the likelihood of legal action or future claims.

Support in this area, will be specific to the actual case, as it is important to ensure individual cases are managed closely, carefully considering the specifics of each case*.

Brainstorming
Process

Whether you are interested in a piece of project work, retained services or both, the process for setting up the service is similar.

We will start by understanding as much as possible about your requirements or challenges and understanding your business and how it operates, crucially what you are aiming to achieve from the service. This will help to assess the situation and provide a proposal on the most effective solutions.

You will then have time to consider the proposal and of course discuss further and ask questions as necessary, to enable you to make the decision which is right for you and your business.
